RESURJ made a submission to the 2022 Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) online consultation with civil society on 14 January 2022. The survey was on safeguarding civic space in Covid-19 recovery. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated already existing challenges for civil society including government surveillance, and state-sponsored violence. And threats for questioning authorities, and increasing restrictions on accessing funding and resources. These new realities also mean new and virtual ways of engaging in advocacy spaces, and related challenges. RESURJ members have been discussing and documenting how these challenges affect younger south feminist organizing. And our advocacy for sexual and reproductive justice. We submitted some of our reflections to the survey with ground experiences on the impact on sexual and reproductive justice.
