In the context of the Generation Equality Forum that took place in Paris from 30 June to 2 July, 2021, we have seen renewed commitments and call for gender equality and the path charted by the Beijing Platform for Action. As a global south transnational feminist alliance, RESURJ is committed to continue to mobilize diverse young feminists constituencies to advocate for accountability at the global, regional and national levels.
We are excited to share RESURJ’s commitments to the various Action Coalitions, from persistent advocacy for the realization of sexual and reproductive justice, collective support and accompaniment for sustaining young south feminists formations, carrying out evidence-based advocacy for a transformative and comprehensive approach to gender-based violence, and diversifying the participation of young feminists in advocacy and accountability spaces.
As part of our Agenda for Action, RESURJ commits for the mobilization of diverse constituencies to advocate for the realization of sexual and reproductive justice for women, adolescents, girls, trans and non-binary people, as well as the leadership of young, global South feminists in shaping population and sustainable development policies and programs that affect our lives.
RESURJ commits to build evidence, opportunities and mobilize of resources towards advocating for transformative and comprehensive approaches to gender-based violence.
RESURJ commits to providing collective support, including through resource sharing, effective communication, and accompaniment for young feminist formations and activists from the global south.
RESURJ commits to amplify collaboration of younger feminists from constituencies and movements that are underrepresented in feminist and women’s rights organizing on the basis of age, race, ethnicity, geographical location, geopolitics, ability, language and other factors.
RESURJ aspires to provide substantive accompaniment for young feminist formations and activists from Global south. We will work as connector and facilitator to bring together diverse young feminists regionally and cross-regionally who are leading movement building for sexual and reproductive justice, comprehensive responses to gender-based violence, achievement of gender equality, and meaningful participation of younger feminists. We will do this through collective knowledge creation, digital tools and advocacy skills that enable younger feminists to be self advocates.
