This year during CSW64, RESURJ and Diva for Equality, Fiji, will be hosting the Feminist Community of Care (FemCom)*, a space to look back on the Beijing Platform for Action and have a collective reflection and conversation around what has been achieved. We want to extend the discussion beyond the CSW timeline; and focus on what we can learn from feminists who participated in Beijing 1995, and what we can devise for ourselves today as we move forward to celebrate 25 years since the Fourth World Conference on Women.
Over three days (March 10, 13 & 14), the Feminist Community of Care (FemCom) will be gathering to revise our trajectory with the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, and collectively reflect on how this platform has shaped our activism and feminist organizing in our different contexts.
At this space we want to connect with other south feminists – and create a space for South and transnational feminist organizing. We also want to deepen our collective intersectional analysis, and to create wellbeing, safe, pleasure centered spaces.
The FemCom space centers collective care, pleasure and fun in all that we do, therefore expect to dive into political discussions and reflections in a relaxed, fun environment!
